OSSSC Nursing Officer Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates aspiring to apply for OSSSC Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 must satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria laid down by the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC). The eligibility conditions include educational qualification, age limit, nationality, language proficiency, and other essential requirements. Applicants must have passed +2 Science or its equivalent examination and should possess any one of the following qualifications:
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC); or
- B.Sc. Nursing from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC); or
- Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
In addition, candidates must be registered with the Odisha Nurses and Midwives Registration Council (ONMRC) and possess a valid registration certificate as on the closing date of submission of online applications.
OSSSC Nursing Officer Age Limit 2026
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above 38 years as on 1 January 2026. Accordingly, applicants should have been born not earlier than 2 January 1988 and not later than 1 January 2005.
Age Relaxation
The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as per Government rules:
- SEBC, SC, ST and Women candidates: 5 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years
- PwD candidates belonging to SEBC, SC or ST categories: 15 years

- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must be able to read, write and speak Odia and should have passed Odia as a subject in Middle School or an equivalent examination.

The OSSSC Nursing Officer 2026 selection process consists of a single-stage written examination. Candidates will be shortlisted solely on the basis of their performance in the written test. The merit list will be prepared according to the marks secured in the examination, subject to verification of certificates and fulfillment of other eligibility conditions prescribed by the commission.

OSSSC Nursing Officer Salary 2026
Candidates selected under OSSSC Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 will be appointed under the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha. They will receive a salary as per the Level-8 pay matrix of the Odisha Revised Pay Rules (ORSP), 2017. The pay scale for the post ranges from ₹29,200 to ₹92,300 per month. In addition to the basic pay, employees will be entitled to various allowances and benefits as admissible under Government rules.
