The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has activated the online application link for SSC CHSL 2026 on 7th September 2026 at its official website. Interested and eligible candidates can now begin the registration process by entering their personal and educational details, uploading the required documents, and paying the application fee through the designated portal. 


How to Apply for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026?

Candidates can follow the steps mentioned here to apply for SSC CHSL 2026 exam 

Step 1: Go to the official SSC portal at ssc.gov.in.

Step 2: Start the registration process by selecting the “Register Now” option available for new users.

Step 3: Provide the necessary information, including your name, mobile number, email ID, educational details, and address.

Step 4: Complete the one-time registration to generate your unique registration ID and password.

Step 5: Use these credentials to log in and access the SSC CHSL 2026 application form.

Step 6: Carefully fill in all the required details in the application form.

Step 7: Upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.

Step 8: Cross-verify all entered information before moving ahead.

Step 9: Make the online payment using any of the accepted modes such as UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking.

Step 10: Once submitted, download the confirmation page and take a printout for future use. 

SSC CHSL 2026: Application Fee 

  • For General category candidates: Rs.100 
  • For Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-servicemen candidates: No fee

SSC CHSL 2026: Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for the SSC CHSL 2026 exam, candidates must meet certain criteria set by the Staff Selection Commission. Below we have given the Eligibility Criteria:  

Educational Qualification

  • DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Staff Selection Commission and Ministry of Culture: 12th pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
  • LDC/JSA and other DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts: 12th Standard or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or University. 
  • Candidates appearing in the 12th examination can also apply, provided they obtain the required qualification on or before 07 October 2026.  

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years 
  • Maximum Age: 27 years 
  • Age will be calculated as on 01 August 2026
  • Candidates must be born between 02 August 1999 and 01 August 2008

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 years 
  • OBC: 3 years 
  • PwBD: 10 years 
  • PwBD (OBC): 13 years 
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years 

SSC CHSL 2026: Selection Process 

The SSC CHSL 2026 selection process will be conducted through Tier-I and Tier-II Computer Based Examinations. Candidates must qualify all required sections of Tier-II, followed by the applicable Skill Test or Typing Test.  

  • Tier-I Examination: Computer Based Objective Test. 
  • Tier-II Examination: Conducted in two sessions on the same day. 
  • Computer Knowledge Test: Mandatory but qualifying in nature. 
  • Skill/Typing Test: Qualifying in nature and applicable according to the post. 
  • DEO: Skill Test is mandatory. 
  • LDC/JSA: Typing Test is conducted in English or Hindi. 
  • Final Merit: Based on the applicable examination scores and prescribed selection rules. 

SSC CHSL 2026 Salary Details 

SSC CHSL 2026 Salary Details

Candidates selected through the SSC CHSL 2026 examination will receive salaries according to the post and applicable Pay Level under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates may also receive applicable allowances and benefits such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other benefits as per government rules. The post-wise pay scale is given below:

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 – Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 – Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 or Pay Level-5 – Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300, depending on the post and department. 
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO), Grade A: Pay Level-4 – Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100
