The Intelligence Bureau has announced a total of 362 vacancies for the post of Multi-Tasking Staff (General) under various categories. The detailed category-wise vacancy distribution is as follows:

Intelligence Bureau MTS Eligibility Criteria 2025

To be eligible for IB MTS Exam 2025, applicants must have passed Class 10 and fall within the age group of 18 to 27 years as on December 14, 2025. Those applying for vacancies in a particular Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB) must also have proficiency in at least one of the language or dialects specified for that SIB, with the ability to read, write, and speak it.

IB MTS Recruitment 2025 - Application fee

The application fee is ₹100/-, along with a recruitment processing charge of ₹550/-. Payments can be made through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or Challan. 

IB MTS Selection Process 2025 

The selection process for IB MTS Recruitment 2025 will be conducted in two stages – Tier-I (Objective Type Exam) and Tier-II (Descriptive Test). Candidates must qualify each stage to be considered for final selection. The detailed scheme of examination is as follows: 

Tier-I: Objective Type Examination

  • The Tier-I exam will be an online test consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). 
  • The total marks for this stage will be 100, and the duration of the exam will be 1 hour.
  • There will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for every wrong answer. 
  • The paper will have 100 questions carrying 1 mark each, divided into four sections:
  • General Awareness – 40 Marks 
  • Quantitative Aptitude – 20 Marks 
  • Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability and Reasoning – 20 Marks 
  • English Language – 20 Marks 


Tier-II: Descriptive Test (Qualifying Nature)

  • Candidates shortlisted from Tier-I will appear for the Tier-II descriptive exam, conducted in offline mode. 
  • This paper will test the candidate’s English Language and Comprehension skills, including vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and paragraph writing (in about 150 words). 
  • The Tier-II exam will carry 50 marks and will be of 1-hour duration. 
  • The qualifying marks for Tier-II are 20 marks. 

Intelligence Bureau MTS (General) Salary 2025 

The selected candidates for the IB MTS Recruitment 2025 will be appointed under the General Central Service, Group ‘C’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) category. They will receive a salary as per Level-1 (₹18,000 – ₹56,900) in the pay matrix, along with all admissible Central Government allowances. In addition, employees will be entitled to a Special Security Allowance (SSA) of 20% of basic pay in addition to other government allowances, making this post a stable and well-paying opportunity in the Intelligence Bureau.
