DSSSB ASO Recruitment 2026 Notification Out: The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has released a latest recruitment notification under Advertisement. No. 01/2026 for several posts in different departments of the Government of NCT of Delhi. Along these vacancies, a large number of openings have been announced for the post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) / Grade-II (GNCTDSS).

DSSSB ASO Recruitment 2026 aims to fill 587 Assistant Section Officer vacancies in the Services Department, Delhi Pollution Control Committee, and Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their DSSSB ASO 2026 online application forms from 24th February 2026 to 25th March 2026 through the official DSSSB website, dsssbonline.nic.in. 

Candidates who hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) post. The selection process will be conducted by DSSSB through a Two-Tier Examination (Tier-I and Tier-II) followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates.

DSSSB Assistant Section Officer Vacancy 2026 

A total of 587 vacancies have been announced for the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) post under DSSSB Recruitment 2026. These vacancies are distributed across different departments of the Government of NCT of Delhi, including the Services Department, Delhi Pollution Control Committee, and Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board.

DSSSB ASO Eligibility Criteria 2026 

Candidates must meet the required eligibility criteria regarding educational qualification and age limit before applying for the DSSSB ASO Recruitment 2026.

DSSSB ASO Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) post under DSSSB Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in multiple stages by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board. Candidates must qualify each stage of the recruitment process to be considered for final appointment. The selection will primarily be based on a two-tier Computer Based Examination, followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates. 

Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (Tier-I) 

The DSSSB ASO Tier-I exam will be an objective type Computer Based Test conducted for 200 marks with a total duration of 2 hours. The exam will consist of 200 multiple choice questions, each carrying 1 mark

  • General Awareness: 40 questions - 40 marks 
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: 40 questions - 40 marks  
  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 40 questions - 40 marks  
  • Hindi Language & Comprehension: 40 questions - 40 marks  
  • English Language & Comprehension: 40 questions - 40 marks 


Stage 2: Computer Based Examination (Tier-II) 

Candidates who qualify the Tier-I examination will appear for the Tier-II examination, which will be conducted in one session of 3 hours. The Tier-II exam will consist of two parts – objective and descriptive, carrying a total of 300 marks

Part-I (Objective Type) 

This section will include 200 multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each, making a total of 200 marks

  • General Awareness - 40 Marks 
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability - 40 Marks 
  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability - 40 Marks 
  • English Language & Comprehension - 40 Marks 
  • Computer Proficiency - 40 Marks 

Part-II (Descriptive Test) 

The descriptive section will be conducted for 100 marks and will test the candidate’s writing ability in English. 

  • Essay / Expansion of Ideas (in English) - 50 Marks 
  • Letter / Application Writing (in English) - 25 Marks 
  • Precis Writing / Summarizing (in English) - 25 Marks 

Stage 3: Document Verification 

Candidates who successfully qualify the two-tier written examination will be called for Document Verification. During this stage, candidates must produce their original certificates and documents related to age, educational qualification, category, and other eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification. The final selection will be made based on the candidate’s performance in the Computer Based Examination and successful verification of document.

DSSSB ASO Salary 2026 

Candidates selected for the post of Assistant Section Officer under the DSSSB Recruitment 2026 will receive a salary under Pay Level-7 of the 7th Pay Commission, with a pay scale of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month. The post falls under Group B (Non-Gazetted, Ministerial) category. Along with the basic pay, selected candidates will also receive additional benefits such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other applicable government allowances.
