Applications are invited from eligible students across India to participate in this four-week programme.

The NHRC Winter Internship Programme 2025 has been officially announced by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India. Scheduled from 15th December 2025 to 9th January 2026, this four-week internship offers students an incredible opportunity to earn a stipend of Rs. 12,000 while gaining practical field experience in human rights research and advocacy. Eligibility Criteria for NHRC Winter Internship 2025

Students meeting the following criteria can apply for the NHRC Winter Internship Programme 2025:

  • Completed 1st year and pursuing 2nd or 3rd year of LLB (3 years).
  • Students of BA LLB / BBA LLB (5 years) who have completed 3 years or Semester VI, pursuing 4th or 5th year.
  • Minimum 65% marks in Class XII and all subsequent semesters.

Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as of 1st October 2025. 

Documents Required

Applicants must submit the following mandatory documents during online registration: 

  • Attested mark sheets from Class X onwards, including all semesters of the current course. 
  • Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from Principal/Dean/HOD (Annexure-I format). 
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) — 250 words write-up on “Reason for joining as Intern in NHRC”. 


Selection Process for NHRC Winter Internship 2025

The selection will be based on merit out of 100 marks:

  • Class XII Marks: 30
  • Graduation Marks: 40
  • SOP/Write-up: 30


Candidates showing research potential and interest in human rights will be given preference. Reservation will be applied as per Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.

Course Structure of NHRC Winter Internship 2025

The internship will cover 65–75 interactive sessions including: 

  • Classroom lectures and discussions. 
  • Interaction with Hon’ble Chairperson, Members, and senior NHRC officials. 
  • Book review and presentation sessions. 
  • Film screenings on child labour, trafficking, rights of the elderly, health, and education, followed by discussions. 
  • Field visits to: 
  • Police Stations / Jails 


Rules & Guidelines

  • Registration on the first day is mandatory.
  • Attendance is compulsory; no leave requests will be entertained.
  • Daily attendance will be recorded.
  • Certificate of Participation will be awarded based on discipline, punctuality, and timely submission of reports and reviews.
