IBPS Specialist Officer Recruitment 2025

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the IBPS Specialist Officer Recruitment 2025 notification for 1007 vacancies in 11 public sector banks for the 2026–27 intake. The posts include IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer. The recruitment process will consist of three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and a Personal Interview. IBPS Specialist Officer Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates applying for IBPS SO Recruitment 2025 must possess the prescribed educational qualifications from recognized universities or institutions as of July 21, 2025. These qualifications vary by post and include engineering degrees, agriculture-related degrees, law degrees, and postgraduate degrees in fields like HR and marketing. Applicants must be between 20 and 30 years of age as of July 1, 2025, with age relaxations applicable for reserved categories.  

Educational Qualifications (as on 21.07.2025):

  • IT Officer (Scale I): 4-year Engineering/Technology degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related fields; or Post Graduate degree in Electronics/IT/Computer Science; or DOEACC ‘B’ level
  • Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I): 4-year Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Science, Dairy Science, Fishery Science, or related disciplines
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I): Post Graduate Degree in Hindi with English at graduation level or Post Graduate Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi at graduation level
  • Law Officer (Scale I): Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) and enrollment with Bar Council
  • HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I): Graduate with 2-year full-time Post Graduate degree/diploma in HR, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or Labour Law
  • Marketing Officer (Scale I): Graduate with 2-year full-time MBA/MMS or PG diploma in Marketing


Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025):

  • Minimum Age: 20 years

IBPS SO Selection Process 2025 

The selection for IBPS Specialist Officer 2025 consists of multiple stages to assess the candidates’ knowledge and suitability for the role. It begins with the Preliminary Examination, which is qualifying in nature. Candidates who clear the prelims will appear for the Main Examination that tests their professional knowledge related to the respective post. Finally, shortlisted candidates from the mains will be called for a personal Interview, which determines the final merit list.

IBPS SO Prelims Exam Pattern 2025 

For Law Officer & Rajbhasha Adhikari:

  • English Language: 50 Qs – 25 Marks
  • Reasoning: 50 Qs – 50 Marks
  • General Awareness (Banking): 50 Qs – 50 Marks
  • Total: 150 Qs – 125 Marks – 120 minutes 


For IT Officer, AFO, HR & Marketing Officer:

  • English Language: 50 Qs – 25 Marks
  • Reasoning: 50 Qs – 50 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Qs – 50 Marks
  • Total: 150 Qs – 125 Marks – 120 minutes


IBPS SO Mains Exam Pattern 2025 

For all posts except Rajbhasha:

  • Professional Knowledge – 60 Qs – 60 Marks – 45 minutes 

For Rajbhasha Adhikari:

  • Professional Knowledge (Objective) – 45 Qs
  • Professional Knowledge (Descriptive) – 2 Qs
  • Total: 60 Marks – 60 minutes 

IBPS SO Interview Process 2025 

Candidates who clear the Mains exam will be invited for an Interview conducted by the participating banks. The final merit list will be based on Mains and Interview scores (80:20 ratio). 

IBPS Specialist Officer Salary 2025 

Selected candidates will be appointed as Specialist Officers in Scale I with a basic pay ranging from ₹48,480 to ₹85,920. The pay structure includes regular increments, with an approximate in-hand salary of ₹52,000 to ₹60,000 per month depending on the bank and location. Besides the basic pay, candidates will receive allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other benefits such as pension, leave, and medical facilities as per bank rules.
