OSSC CGL Specialist Salary 2026
Selected candidates under OSSC CGL Specialist Recruitment 2026 will receive salary as per ORSP Rules 2017. The post wise salary structure is given below.
- Level 9 Posts – ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400
- Level 7 Posts – ₹25,500 to ₹81,100
- Level 4 Posts – ₹19,900 to ₹63,200
Note: Apart from the basic pay, candidates will also get DA, HRA, medical facilities, pension benefits, leave benefits, and other allowances as admissible under Odisha Government rules.
OSSC CGL Specialist Selection Process 2026
OSSC CGL Specialist Selection Process 2026 will be conducted through three stages including Preliminary Examination, Main Written Examination, and Certificate Verification. Candidates applying for some posts will also have to appear in the Computer Skill Test as part of the Main Examination process. Both Preliminary and Main examinations will be conducted in CBRE/OMR mode with objective type multiple choice questions.
Stage I – Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination will consist of one objective type paper conducted in CBRE/OMR mode.

- Total Questions – 150 Questions
- Duration – 2 Hours 30 Minutes (150 Minutes)

Note: Candidates numbering at least five times the vacancies category wise and post wise will be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination based on marks secured in the Preliminary Examination.
Stage II – Main Written Examination
The Main Written Examination will consist of one Technical Paper for different posts/services.

Note: Candidates applying for the post of Senior Economic Investigator must choose one subject for the Technical Paper from the prescribed subjects while filling out the online application form. Once selected, the subject cannot be changed later.
Computer Skill Test
Candidates applying for Inspector of Legal Metrology, Laboratory Assistant under FS & CW Department, Junior Laboratory Assistant under Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Odisha, and Junior Laboratory Assistant under State Food Testing Laboratory are exempted from the Computer Skill Test.
Candidates applying for all other posts must qualify the Computer Skill Test.
- Qualifying Marks – 50% of Total Marks
Stage III – Certificate Verification
Candidates shortlisted after the Main Examination and Computer Skill Test will be called for Certificate Verification. All original educational certificates, identity proof, caste certificate, and other required documents will be verified during this stage.
Important Note
As per Government guidelines, the Preliminary and Main Written Examination will be conducted in both Odia and English language except language papers. Candidates must select their preferred examination language while filling out the online application form. Once selected, the language option cannot be changed later.
OSSC CGL Specialist Application Fee 2026
Candidates applying for OSSC CGL Specialist Recruitment 2026 are required to pay the prescribed examination fee as mentioned in the official notification. However, the examination fee paid by candidates who actually appear in the recruitment examination will be refunded by the Commission.
