OSSC Senior Store Inspector Eligibility Criteria 2026 

Candidates applying for OSSC Civil Defence Instructor / Senior Store Inspector Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the required eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification, age limit, and other conditions as prescribed in the official notification. Only eligible candidates should apply to avoid rejection at later stages of the selection process. 

Educational Qualification 

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university. In addition, applicants should have basic knowledge of computer applications, which is essential for performing duties under the post. 

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 years 

• Maximum Age: 32 years 

Age Relaxation:

• SC / ST / SEBC / Women: 05 Years 

• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government rules 

Other Eligibility Conditions

Apart from educational qualification and age limit, candidates must also satisfy the following conditions:

• Must be a citizen of India

• Must be able to read, write, and speak Odia

• Must have passed: Middle School with Odia as a subject, OR Matriculation with Odia as medium, OR Class VII or above with Odia as a subject

• Candidates can also qualify through an Odia language test conducted by the Government of Odisha 

OSSC Senior Store Inspector Selection Process 2026 

The selection process for OSSC Senior Store Inspector Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in three stages as per the official notification. Candidates must qualify each stage of the recruitment process to be considered for final selection. 

Stages of Selection Process

• Stage 1: Written Examination

• Stage 2: Physical Measurement & Physical Efficiency Test (PM & PET)

• Stage 3: Certificate Verification 

Stage 1: Written Examination 

The Written Examination will be conducted in OMR or CBRE mode and will consist of objective-type (MCQ) questions.

• Total Questions: 150

• Total Marks: 150

• Duration: 180 Minutes

There will be negative marking for incorrect answers:

• 0.25 marks (if there are 4 options)

• 0.33 marks (if there are 3 options)

Note: The Commission will fix minimum qualifying marks for different categories and shortlist candidates for the next stage. Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies will be called for the Physical Test. 

Stage 2: Physical Measurement & Physical Efficiency Test (PM & PET) 

Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test. This stage is qualifying in nature. 

Physical Measurement Standards 

For Men (UR & SEBC):

• Height: 168 cm, Weight: 55 kg, Chest: 79 cm (Unexpanded), 84 cm (Expanded) 

For Women (UR & SEBC): 

• Height: 155 cm, Weight: 47.5 kg 

For SC / ST Men:

• Height: 163 cm, Weight: 50 kg, Chest: 76 cm (Unexpanded), 81 cm (Expanded) 

For SC / ST Women: 

• Height: 150 cm, Weight: 45 kg 

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 

For Men (All Categories):

• Running: 1.6 km in 8 minutes

• Long Jump: 3.66 meters (3 attempts)

For Women (All Categories):

• Running: 1.6 km in 10 minutes

• Long Jump: 2.77 meters (3 attempts) 

Stage 3: Certificate Verification

Candidates who qualify both the Written Examination and PM & PET will be called for Certificate Verification.

• All original documents must be produced for verification

• Absence in this stage will lead to cancellation of candidature

• No request for change of date will be entertained 

OSSC Senior Store Inspector / Civil Defence Instructor Salary 2026 

Selected candidates for the post of Senior Store Inspector / Civil Defence Instructor through OSSC CRE-2025 will receive a salary under the Group-B category in the Level-9 pay scale (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) as per the ORSP Rules, 2017. They will also receive a monthly salary within this pay range along with applicable allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other benefits as per Odisha Government norms.
