ISRO Fireman Eligibility Criteria 2025 

Candidates applying for the post of Fireman ‘A’ under ISRO SDSC SHAR Recruitment 2025 must have passed SSLC / SSC / Matric / 10th Standard from a recognized board. Along with the educational qualification, applicants must also meet the prescribed physical fitness and endurance test standards as per SDSC SHAR norms. ISRO Fireman Salary 2025

ISRO Fireman Recruitment 2025 - Application Fee

ISRO Fireman Selection Process 2025 

The ISRO Fireman Selection Process 2025 will be conducted in multiple stages to assess the candidate’s physical fitness, medical fitness, and written performance. The process includes: 

Key Points of Selection Process

  • Candidates must submit a valid Preliminary Medical Examination (PME) Certificate issued by a registered government medical officer (not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon). The certificate will remain valid for six months. 
  • Based on Written Test marks, eligible candidates meeting PME standards will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) in a 1:50 ratio to the number of vacancies. 
  • The PET will be conducted in two stages on a ‘Go–No–Go’ basis, and candidates failing in any event will be disqualified. 
  • Those who qualify both PET stages will undergo the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). 
  • The final merit list will be prepared based on Written Test marks among candidates who qualify DME. 
  • Candidates must participate in PET at their own risk and are required to submit an undertaking/declaration form before appearing for the test. 

ISRO Fireman Physical Test 2025 

To qualify for the ISRO SDSC SHAR Fireman Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet the prescribed physical fitness standards and successfully pass the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). These tests ensure that candidates possess the required endurance, strength, and medical fitness necessary for firefighting duties at SDSC SHAR.  


Physical Fitness Standards

Candidates must fulfill the following physical and medical standards to be considered eligible:

Height (Minimum):

  • General Category (Men): 165 cm
  • Women & Transgender (General): 160 cm
  • Gorkhas, Hill Tribes, SC & ST: 155 cm


Weight (Minimum):

  • Men: 50 kg
  • Women: 46 kg
  • Transgender: 43 kg


Chest (Men):

  • On Expiration: 81 cm 
  • On Inspiration: 86 cm 
  • Chest Expansion: Minimum 5 cm 


Chest (Women & Transgender):

  • On Expiration: 76 cm 
  • On Inspiration: 81 cm 
  • Chest Expansion: Minimum 5 cm 


Qualifying Standards for Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be conducted in two stages. It is qualifying in nature and candidates must meet the following standards (for candidates up to 40 years of age):  

For Men 

Stage I:

  • 1500 Metres Run – To be completed within 7 minutes 


Stage II:

  • Rope Climbing (by hands only): 5 metres from ground level 
  • Carrying a Human Dummy (60 kg weight): 25 metres in 60 seconds 
  • Long Jump (best of 3 attempts): Minimum 3.8 metres 
  • Running 100 Metres: Within 15 seconds  


For Women & Transgender Candidates 

Stage I:

  • 800 Metres Run – To be completed within 4 minutes 


Stage II:

  • Rope Climbing (by hands only): 4.5 metres from ground level 
  • Carrying a Human Dummy (50 kg weight): 25 metres in 75 seconds 
  • Long Jump (best of 3 attempts): Minimum 3.5 metres 
  • Running 100 Metres: Within 17 seconds
